For your forest route in the Baltics, we’ve selected the most spectacular forest destinations, where the forest has become an integral part of identity, part of brand and sometimes even a part of soul.
This forest route runs through all 3 Baltic countries. It starts in the largest nature reserve in Estonia - Peipsiveere Nature Reserve, located in the eastern part of the Tartu County, on the shores of Emajogi river, where you will explore diverse wet habitats and large marshland in the river’s delta. In south Estonia you will visit the charming forest capital of Estonia – the pine town of Elva, known also as summer resort of Tartu University professors and intellectuals.
In North Latvia we invite you to North Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve, featuring coniferous and mixed forests and Gauja National Park- the oldest and largest national park in Latvia, where you will meet animals and birds, characteristic of the Latvian fauna.
